During the Powerworms project learning mobility, participants had the opportunity to visit Green Republic, a farm renowned for its commitment to organic vegetable production. This visit highlighted Green Republic’s innovative use of vermicomposting beds, which they utilize to compost all organic waste generated on the farm. This method not only efficiently recycles waste but also significantly enhances the fertility of their soil, fostering a sustainable environment for growing their certified organic vegetables. Green Republic is particularly known for their range of salad vegetables and salad mixes, emphasizing its dedication to meeting consumer demands with high-quality, organically produced products. The visit to the Green Republic offered participants an insightful look into practical applications of vermicomposting in organic farming and the farm’s approach to sustainable agriculture.
