Sustainable Composting Techniques at Rabbit Farm, Sveti Nikole

On the third and final day of our vermicomposting-focused trip, we visited the Rabbit Meat Farm in Sveti Nikole, known for its rich culture and history. This visit provided a unique perspective on sustainable farming practices. At the farm, we observed their distinctive composting method, where rabbit manure is converted into a nutrient-rich compost. This process not only supports the farm’s own needs but also supplies local farmers with high-quality compost. A particularly interesting aspect of their practice is using fermented nettles to enhance nitrogen levels in the compost. The Rabbit Farm exemplifies an efficient and environmentally friendly approach to waste management, demonstrating how agricultural waste can be repurposed into a valuable resource for farming. This visit was both educational and inspiring, showcasing innovative strategies in sustainable agriculture.
