Study Visit to the Turkish Consulate General in Amsterdam

On July 19, 2023, a delegation representing the Erasmus Plus project “Introducing Floor Curling to Young People with Sustainable Green Energy” visited the Turkish Consulate General in Amsterdam. The visit saw fruitful discussions and the exchange of ideas aimed at fostering future collaborations.

During the study visit, participants were honoured to engage with Mr Anil Yılmaz, the esteemed Education Attaché based in Amsterdam. The agenda of their discussions was wide-ranging, covering the consulate’s services, the Turkish community in the Netherlands and offering an in-depth look into the historical backdrop of Turkish-Dutch diplomatic relations.

While discussions encompassed the historical nuances of Turkish-Dutch diplomatic relations, attendees also explored the consulate’s offerings, from consular affairs to visa services. The engagement revealed the consulate’s dedication to nurturing cultural diversity and strengthening ties between Turkey and the Netherlands in diverse domains, including education and social affairs.

ILA, representing the Dutch interests in the aforementioned Erasmus Plus project, took the initiative in organizing this educational study visit. In doing so, ILA reaffirmed its dedication to cultivating cross-cultural understanding and fortifying international collaborations. By acting as the bridge between sports education specialists, youth and sports workers, sports associations, and diplomatic representatives, ILA showcased its pivotal role in promoting global unity.

Conclusively, the study visit was more than a mere engagement. It amplified the understanding of Turkish-Dutch relations and the consulate’s invaluable contributions. Such endeavours champion the aspirations of the “Introducing Floor Curling to Young People with Sustainable Green Energy” project, driving a united, inclusive global community.
