Amsterdam Hosts “READY” Project Training Course on Sensitive Language for Inclusivity

ILA recently hosted the groundbreaking “Sensitive Language Regarding Disability for a more Inclusive Society (READY)” project training course. The last day of the event was split into two insightful sessions. The inaugural session delved deep into Educational Initiatives, underscoring the importance of curriculum integration for sensitive language application. This was complemented by a comprehensive look at specialized training programs tailored for educators and trainers from Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. The second workshop shifted its focus towards Best and Worst Practices, providing an enlightening overview of success stories from the aforementioned countries. Attendees were also presented with international best practices, case studies showcasing the positive impact of sensitive language, and heartfelt testimonials from individuals with disabilities or their advocates. The READY project stresses the importance of using sensitive language to foster inclusion and equality. The project raises awareness among trainers and educators to end discrimination and stigmatisation against people with disabilities.
