ILA Visits Directory of Health to Strengthen Support for Migrant Workers’ Health and Integration
On November 7th, ILA conducted a study visit to the Directory of Health as part of the “Increase the Capacity of Migrants and Refugees in Agriculture Sector” (CAMRAS) project. During the visit, ILA representatives met with public officers and NGO representatives responsible for providing health services to migrant workers. The CAMRAS project, which focuses on creating better employment opportunities and improving living standards, was presented in detail. The 27 participants discussed strategies for disseminating project outputs and pledged to support the initiative by incorporating health literacy and health service development for migrants to enhance project sustainability.
Participants shared valuable feedback, highlighting the project’s potential to address critical gaps in healthcare access for migrants. Public officers noted that integrating health literacy into the project could empower migrant workers to navigate health services more effectively, thereby improving their overall well-being. NGO representatives emphasized that enhancing healthcare support would not only benefit migrants but also ease the burden on local health systems. Many attendees expressed enthusiasm for contributing to the project’s activities, seeing it as a significant step toward fostering healthier, more resilient migrant communities.
