“From the Ground Up – Fostering Rural Youth Participation in the Eu Agenda” Project’s Conference Was Held in Rychnov nad Kneznou, Czechia, on 11 – 13 June 2025
The event united youth, educators, and policymakers in Rychnov nad Kněžnou, Czech Republic, to explore the quality of life among rural youth and the effects of conservative shifts in politics across Europe. Through interactive formats such as a World Café, thematic discussions, and an Oxford Debate on the gender dimension of politics, participants critically examined rising conservatism, youth unemployment, and depopulation in rural areas. Local students played an active role in the dialogue, contributing their lived experiences and perspectives to shape a collective vision for a more inclusive and democratic Europe.
Impact:
The “From the Ground Up – Fostering Rural Youth Participation in the EU Agenda” project promoted EU and local democratic processes for the upcoming European Elections 2024. The project informed rural and peripheral communities about hate speech, disinformation, fake news, misleading content, cybersecurity threats, conservative shifts, and political resentments that challenge the integrity of elections.
